There’s never been a shortage of new phones to get excited about. From flagship slab phones and foldables to clamshells and camera-first devices, there’s always something shiny waiting to tempt you away from the handset that’s lived in your pocket for the past year or two.
Below, we’ve rounded up all the major smartphones expected to launch over the next twelve months. That includes both confirmed releases and credible rumours, so you can start narrowing down your shortlist — and setting aside some savings. You’ll find details on expected specs, camera upgrades, and software features, along with broader context based on recent launches and wider industry trends.
The Best Upcoming Phones We’re Expecting Soon
Samsung Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung’s next Galaxy S lineup is expected to arrive in February 2026, with the 25th widely tipped by leakers. Early rumours suggested Samsung might drop the S26+ in favour of an ultra-slim S26 Edge variant alongside the standard S26 and S26 Ultra, but more recent reports claim weak sales of the S25 Edge have seen that plan shelved.
Fans hoping for more than last year’s incremental upgrades may finally get their wish. Samsung took bigger risks with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, and industry chatter points to slimmer designs across the S26 range. Camera improvements — particularly to the Ultra’s zoom system — are high on many wish lists.
Silicon-carbon battery technology still seems unlikely, given Samsung’s cautious approach following past battery issues, but gains in efficiency could still deliver improved battery life. Design tweaks may also return, with rumours suggesting raised camera housings to accommodate upgraded sensors in slimmer bodies.
Qi2 support was once expected across the lineup, but newer leaks suggest magnetic wireless charging will still require a compatible case, much like last year.
Honor Magic V6

Honor’s next book-style foldable may arrive much sooner than expected. While the Magic V5 launched in China in July 2025 before expanding to Europe in August, its successor could debut as early as March 2026 at Mobile World Congress. The device has already passed certification with a Chinese telecoms authority.
Expect an impressively slim foldable powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with a large silicon-carbon battery. Camera upgrades could see it rival Samsung’s foldables, while pricing is expected to undercut the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Oppo Find N6

It remains unclear whether Oppo will bring its next foldable outside China. The Find N5 never launched globally, but with OnePlus opting out of a second-generation Open, there may be room for a photography-focused alternative.
The Find N6 is expected to be extremely thin, continuing Oppo’s design push. A Snapdragon flagship chipset is almost certain, possibly with thermal-management tweaks, while Hasselblad-tuned cameras and a silicon-carbon battery appear likely.
Honor Robot Phone

Part gimbal-stabilised action camera and part AI assistant, Honor’s experimental “Robot Phone” is expected to be fully unveiled at Mobile World Congress. Featuring a motorised pop-out camera module that physically unfolds from the handset, it promises a unique approach to mobile photography. Hardware details remain scarce, but it could be one of 2026’s most distinctive devices.
Google Pixel 10a

Google’s next affordable Pixel launches on February 18. Official images have already revealed a familiar design, including a flat camera bar, rounded edges, and bold colour options.
Leaks suggest minimal changes from the Pixel 9a, including a 6.28-inch AMOLED display, a 48MP main camera, 13MP ultrawide and selfie cameras, a 5100mAh battery, and Tensor G4 silicon. Expect 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and 23W charging, with pricing hopefully staying below $500 / £500.
Motorola Razr 70 & Razr 70 Ultra

Motorola’s next Razr foldables should arrive by mid-2026, offering both mid-range and flagship options. Pantone-approved colourways are a given, and the full-width external display is expected to return.
Motorola remains one of the few Western brands embracing silicon-carbon batteries, so strong battery life is likely once again.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 & Z Flip 8

Samsung’s next foldables are expected around July or August 2026. Details are scarce for now, but following the success of the Z Fold 7’s slimmer design and improved cameras, expectations are high.
Battery life and further camera upgrades top most wish lists, though Samsung’s reluctance to adopt silicon-carbon technology may limit gains.
Google Pixel 11 Series

Google’s flagship Pixel phones typically arrive in August, and 2026 should be no exception. The Pixel 11 lineup is expected to include a standard Pixel 11, two Pixel 11 Pro variants, and a Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
A new Tensor chipset and the latest version of Android are almost guaranteed. Hardware camera upgrades and larger batteries would be welcome, as rivals continue to pull ahead in both areas.
Apple iPhone 18 Series

Apple’s September launch window remains locked in for 2026. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to retain the current design language, including the full-width camera plateau introduced with the iPhone 17 series.
Under-display Face ID remains a rumoured feature, though it could slip to 2027. The future of the iPhone Air line is also uncertain, following reports of underwhelming sales.
Apple iPhone Fold

Apple’s foldable iPhone has been rumoured for years, and supply-chain chatter suggests development is well underway. A book-style foldable appears more likely than a clamshell, though Apple’s obsession with minimising display creases could push the launch beyond 2026.
Phones Revealed but Not Yet Widely Available
Xiaomi 17 Series

Xiaomi skipped the 16 series entirely, aligning its naming and design strategy more closely with Apple. The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max stands out with a rear camera island that doubles as a secondary display, a massive battery, and flagship-level camera hardware.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra pushes mobile photography even further, featuring a 1-inch main sensor and a 200MP telephoto lens with variable optical zoom. A global debut is expected at Mobile World Congress.
Samsung Galaxy TriFold

Samsung’s tri-fold phone launched in limited markets in late 2025, featuring a 6.5-inch outer display that unfolds into a 10-inch tablet. It’s ultra-thin, extremely expensive, and produced in small numbers — more a technological showcase than a mass-market product.
Motorola Razr Fold

Motorola’s first book-style foldable debuted at CES 2026. It features a large inner display, triple 50MP cameras, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 performance. Full specifications and pricing are expected closer to launch, likely later in 2026.
