Now, a Spotify user has uncovered a simple trick that makes the app resemble Apple Music, giving it a much brighter appearance. The catch? It’s not an official Spotify feature.
A Hidden Way to Give Spotify a New Look
A Reddit user recently shared screenshots showing Spotify running with what appears to be a light mode interface. Instead of the platform’s signature black-and-green design, the app displays a clean white background that closely resembles Apple Music’s minimalist aesthetic.
The transformation immediately caught the attention of Spotify users who have long requested an official light theme.
However, there’s a catch.
The appearance isn’t enabled through Spotify itself. Instead, it relies on system-wide color inversion settings available on both Android and iOS.
How It Works
By enabling your phone’s Invert Colors or Smart Invert accessibility feature, Spotify’s dark interface is flipped into a predominantly white layout.
Because Spotify doesn’t currently offer an official light mode, this workaround is the closest users can get without third-party modifications.
The feature can be enabled through your device’s accessibility settings rather than within the Spotify app.
Why It Doesn’t Feel Quite Right
At first glance, the white interface looks surprisingly similar to Apple Music, with bright menus and cleaner-looking navigation.
But after spending some time with it, the experience starts to feel off.
