Power outages can quickly turn into expensive inconveniences, especially when they leave refrigerators without electricity for hours. To help tackle that problem, Jackery has introduced FridgeGuard, a compact backup battery designed specifically to keep refrigerators running during blackouts.

Alongside FridgeGuard, the company has also announced three new portable power stations under its HomePower Series, offering backup solutions for everything from home offices to entire households.

FridgeGuard Keeps Your Refrigerator Running

Jackery describes the FridgeGuard as the world’s slimmest refrigerator backup battery.

Measuring just 2.6 inches thick and weighing 23 pounds, the battery can be placed beside a refrigerator, mounted on a wall, or stored flat to save space.

Inside is a 1,024Wh battery capable of powering a refrigerator for up to 15 hours during an outage. Users can extend runtime to approximately 30 hours by adding an optional expansion battery.

The unit also features a 10ms automatic switchover, allowing connected appliances to continue operating almost instantly when power is lost.

To handle the startup demands of refrigerator compressors, Jackery includes 1,600W peak output, along with surge protection and a battery bypass mode that helps preserve long-term battery health.

While designed primarily for refrigerators, FridgeGuard can also provide backup power for devices such as:

  • Home office equipment
  • Aquariums
  • CPAP machines

The FridgeGuard launches as a Costco-exclusive product with a member price of $559.99.

Jackery Expands Home Backup Lineup

Alongside FridgeGuard, Jackery introduced three new portable power stations under its HomePower Series.

HomePower 3600 Pro Max

The flagship model starts with 3,584Wh of battery capacity and can be expanded to as much as 43kWh. It also supports a Manual Transfer Switch, allowing it to provide backup power for an entire home during outages.

HomePower 2000 Plus v2

Designed for users who want flexibility, this model includes 2,048Wh of base capacity and supports expansion up to 12kWh using additional battery packs. It also supports solar charging for off-grid applications.

HomePower 1000 v2

Aimed at home offices and smaller backup needs, the HomePower 1000 v2 offers 1,024Wh of capacity along with surge protection for sensitive electronics.

Long Battery Life

All three HomePower models use LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery technology, rated for approximately 6,000 charging cycles. Jackery estimates this translates to roughly 16 years of regular use, making the systems suitable for long-term backup power.

The HomePower Series becomes available starting June 23 through Jackery’s official website and Amazon.

Final Thoughts

With FridgeGuard, Jackery is targeting a growing market for dedicated refrigerator backup systems. Its slim design, fast automatic switchover, and extended runtime make it an attractive option for homeowners looking to protect food and essential appliances during unexpected outages. Combined with the new HomePower Series, Jackery now offers backup solutions ranging from individual appliances to whole-home emergency power.
